Aquafina Major League Pitch, Hit & Run Competition
Grafton Little League will host a free Aquafina Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Competition for area youth. The competition will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Ferry Field. Boys and girls ages 7 through 14 who are signed up to play in the Grafton Little League Program this year, are welcome to participate in this competition. Those interested in participating should check with their Little League coaches concerning the time when members of their team will be competing.
Pitch, Hit & Run is the Official Skills Competition of Major League Baseball. This grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball skills.
The individual Pitching, Hitting, and Running Champions, along with the All-Around Champion in each age group at the Local Competition will advance to the Sectional Level of Competition. Competitors have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks, and the National Finals at the 2011 MLB All-Star Game.
All participants should bring a copy of their birth certificate, and will fill out a registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.
