Resumption Of Play

Grafton Families,

We are excited to start to take the first steps in beginning our 2020 Little League season.  As most of you are aware, Governor Baker has outlined the phases of Massachusetts’s reopening and practices and training for youth “contact” sports are set to begin during Phase 2 (as early as June 8th)…. and gameplay to follow in Phase 3 (as early as June 29th).

As excited as we are to once again watch our children begin to do the things they love, our number one priority is to provide the safest possible return to our fields. With guidance and direction from the CDC, our local and state officials, Little League International and The Massachusetts Outdoor Recreational Advisory Task Force we will be implementing protocols to help keep our families as safe as possible throughout our season. These protocols, designed for our practices during Phase 2, are outlined in the attached document and can be found on our website (graftonlittleleague.org). Additional protocols for game play will be provided by the MRATF as Phase 3 approaches.

As part of our commitment to a responsible start to our season we will delay the start of our younger divisions (Coach Pitch and Tee Ball) until Phase 3 (as early as June 29th) as these divisions inherently present the most challenges enforcing social distancing and other protocols.

Our schedule and plan to reopen will be based on Phase 2 (June 8th) and Phase 3 (June 29th), understanding that these dates are subject to change based on the Governor’s move to each Phase.
